Terms and Conditions
1. Membership
1.1 Membership is personal to the named member and may not be transferred, sold or lent to another person.
1.2 Memberships are currently available to persons aged 18 years or over.
1.3 Membership is subject to acceptance by The Manor Health and Leisure Club. We reserve the right to refuse an application where we have reasonable grounds to do so.
1.4 Members must provide accurate and complete information when joining and must notify us of any relevant changes to their contact or payment details.
1.5 Members must use their membership credentials, access card, fob or other access method only for their own access. Allowing another person to use your membership or attempting to obtain access using another member's credentials may result in suspension or termination of membership.
1.6 We may request reasonable identification to confirm a member's identity.
2. Opening Hours and Access
2.1 The Manor's advertised opening hours are currently:
Monday to Friday: 6:00am – 11:00pm
Saturday and Sunday: 8:00am – 9:00pm
2.2 Memberships are offered without restriction on time of day during the applicable opening hours.
2.3 Opening hours may change from time to time, including during bank holidays, Christmas, New Year, maintenance periods or other exceptional circumstances.
2.4 Certain areas or facilities may have different operating hours or may occasionally be unavailable.
2.5 We may temporarily close all or part of the premises where reasonably necessary for maintenance, cleaning, repairs, health and safety, emergencies or other operational reasons.
2.6 Wherever reasonably practicable, we will provide advance notice of planned closures or significant changes to opening hours.
3. Membership Fees, Payments and Cancellation Policy
3.1 If a payment is missed or reversed, we may suspend access to the facilities until the outstanding amount has been paid. We may change our membership prices from time to time. Any change to an ongoing membership will be communicated in advance where required by law and will not affect any rights you have under applicable consumer legislation.
3.2 Monthly membership: No minimum commitment or joining fee. Payments will be collected in accordance with the payment authority or standing order arrangement agreed with you. Rolling contract. One month's notice is required to stop the rolling contract.
3.3 Annual Gym Membership: One-off payment, no rolling contract.
3.4 6 Months Membership: One-off payment, no rolling contract.
3.5 3 Months Membership: One-off payment, no rolling contract.
3.6 Cancellation Policy:
Cooling-off Period: You are entitled to cancel your membership and receive a full refund of any fees paid if you let us know no later than 14 days after the purchase date. This applies to purchasing your membership online via website.
How do I cancel within the 14-day period? Fill in the form below with the reason for cancelling. We will process the refund within two weeks,
Cancelling a direct debit or other payment instruction does not, by itself, constitute cancellation of your membership or remove any payment obligations that have already arisen.
4. Membership Suspension and Termination
4.1 We may temporarily suspend membership where reasonably necessary, including where:
membership fees are overdue;
the member has breached these Terms or the Club Rules;
the member has behaved in an abusive, threatening or inappropriate manner;
there is a health or safety concern;
the member has allowed another person to use their membership; or
suspension is necessary to protect members, staff or the premises.
4.2 Where reasonably practicable, we will explain the reason for a suspension and the steps required for access to be reinstated.
4.3 We may terminate membership where a member commits a serious or repeated breach of these Terms or behaves in a manner that reasonably threatens the safety, wellbeing or enjoyment of other members or staff.
4.4 Serious misconduct may include violence, threats, harassment, discrimination, theft, deliberate damage, fraud, misuse of membership credentials or persistent refusal to comply with reasonable staff instructions.
4.5 Where appropriate, we may provide a warning or opportunity to remedy a breach before terminating membership. However, serious misconduct may result in immediate suspension or termination.
4.6 Termination does not affect any rights or obligations that arose before the date of termination.
4.7 Any refund following termination will be determined in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the termination.
5. Gym Rules/ Health and Safety
You use The Manor's facilities at your own risk, subject to our obligations under applicable law.
5.1 Before exercising, you should consider whether you are physically fit and medically able to participate safely in physical activity.
5.2 You should seek appropriate medical advice before undertaking exercise if you have any concerns about your ability to exercise safely.
5.3 You must inform an appropriate member of staff of any medical condition, injury or other relevant circumstance where it may affect your safe use of the facilities.
5.4 You must follow all health and safety instructions, equipment instructions and reasonable instructions given by our staff.
5.5 If you feel unwell, dizzy, faint, injured or otherwise unable to exercise safely, you must stop exercising and notify a member of staff where appropriate.
5.6 The Manor does not provide medical advice or guarantee that exercise will be suitable for every individual.
5.7 Equipment must only be used for its intended purpose and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and any instructions provided by The Manor Health and Leisure Gym.
5.8 Members must not misuse, alter, dismantle or deliberately damage equipment.
5.9 Members should return weights, accessories and other equipment to the appropriate storage areas after use.
5.10 Where equipment is damaged or appears unsafe, members must stop using it and report the issue to staff.
5.11 The Manor Health and Leisure Club provides a designated ladies-only gym area as part of its facilities. Access to this area is subject to any rules, restrictions and operating arrangements communicated by The Manor.
5.12 Members must respect the purpose of designated areas and comply with reasonable staff instructions concerning their use.
6. Personal Training
6.1 Personal training services are available separately from general membership.
6.2 Any personal training arrangement may be subject to separate booking, payment and cancellation terms.
6.3 Members are responsible for following reasonable instructions given by appropriately authorised trainers during training sessions.
6.4 Personal trainers and other third-party service providers may operate independently of The Manor. Where applicable, separate terms will apply to services provided directly by them.
7. Conduct and Respect
We want The Manor to remain a welcoming, safe and respectful environment for members and staff.
7.1 Members must behave respectfully towards other members, visitors, contractors and staff.
7.2 The following are prohibited:
abusive, threatening or intimidating behaviour;
harassment or unwanted conduct;
discriminatory behaviour;
fighting or physical aggression;
deliberate damage to property;
theft or attempted theft;
unauthorised commercial activity;
filming or photographing another person without their consent where doing so would reasonably infringe their privacy;
use of facilities while under the influence of illegal drugs; and
any other conduct that creates a reasonable health, safety or security concern.
7.3 Staff may ask a member to leave the premises where they reasonably believe the member's conduct presents a safety, security or serious disruption risk.
7.4 Members must wear suitable clothing and appropriate footwear when using the gym and other facilities.
7,5 Members should maintain appropriate personal hygiene and use towels or other protective measures where reasonably required.
7.6 Equipment should be wiped down after use where cleaning materials are provided.
7.7 Members must dispose of rubbish responsibly and help us maintain a clean facility.
7.8 Members are responsible for their personal belongings while visiting The Manor Health and Leisure facilities.
7.9 Valuables should not be left unattended.
7.10 Lockers, where provided, should be used in accordance with any instructions displayed.
7.11 Unless required by law, The Manor accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings arising from circumstances where reasonable care has been taken.
7.12 Any lost property should be handed to reception or a member of staff.
7.13 Guest access is only permitted where specifically authorised by The Manor.
7.14 Guests must comply with these Terms, Club Rules and staff instructions while on the premises.
7.15 The member introducing a guest may be responsible for ensuring that the guest follows the applicable rules.
7.16 We reserve the right to refuse guest access where reasonably necessary for safety, capacity, security or operational reasons.
7.17 Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, membership is currently available only to persons aged 18 or over.
7.18 Children and young persons may only enter or use areas of The Manor where expressly permitted by us and subject to any applicable supervision requirements.
8. Photography, Filming and Privacy
8.1 Members must respect the privacy of others.
8.2 Photography or filming must not be undertaken in changing rooms, toilets or other areas where individuals have a reasonable expectation of privacy.
8.3 You must not deliberately photograph or film another member without their consent where doing so would reasonably cause concern or interfere with their privacy.
8.4 Commercial photography or filming requires prior written permission from The Manor.
9. Changes to Facilities and Services
9.1 We may make reasonable changes to our facilities, equipment, classes, services and operating arrangements.
9.2 We may replace, remove, upgrade or relocate equipment and facilities where reasonably necessary.
9.3 We will endeavour to ensure that significant changes do not materially undermine the membership service for which you have contracted, subject to applicable law.
